Cub Scout Pack 460 recruits boys from Pines Lakes Elementary, Pembroke
Lakes and Lakeside Elementary in Pembroke Pines, but we invite all local
boys to visit and join us.
This WEB page will tell a little bit about us, the things we do, our activities,
how to reach us and updates on what's going on.
OUR MISSION
Pack 460 wants every boy in our community to have a chance to share scouting
and personal growth with his family and friends. We want these boys to
have fun and to feel good about themselves. In all scouting activities,
we strive to teach boys to respect God and country, their community, their
neighbors, and the environment. And we have a lot of smiles and laughs
along the way.
PACK PROFILE
The Cub Scout Pack is a group made up of dens...Tiger Cub, Cub Scout,
and Webelos Scout dens. The pack includes not only the boys in the dens,
but also their families and leaders. The dens have weekly den meetings
where they work on different activities tailored for their ages which
help the boys advance to the different levels of scouting. Den meeting
activities may include
* field trips
* crafts and games
* safety lessons
* outdoor skills
* scouting skills
* sports and fishing
* physical fitness
* Indian lore
* and much more
The entire pack meets once a month at a Pack Meeting. The Pack Meetings
are a time for the boys to participate in Flag ceremonies, perform songs
and/or skits, and receive awards.
We have monthly Parent's Meetings where parent representatives from each
den get together and plan the business aspects of running the program.
These meetings are an essential part of running a quality program.
Our pack believes that Cub Scouting is a family oriented
program. It requires parental involvement. All scouts must attend their
weekly den meetings with a parent; siblings and other family members are
also welcome to attend. In addition to regular pack and den meetings,
occasionally the pack will take trips and conduct service projects or
fund-raising activities. During the summer, the pack conducts activities
such as a beach bash, bowling or skating.
Our pack program is chock full of fun events like:
* the annual Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta competitions
* the annual Blue and Gold Banquet with a parent and son cake bakeoff
* family camping
* the annual campout to the Cub Scout Cuboree
* participation in the Annual Scout Expo and Sleepover at Pro Player Stadium
* many other activities that include songs, skits, games and parties
We have a lot of fun because we have a lot of energy.
We welcome you to join Cub Scout Pack 460.
